Data controller

NöroKalkan is an independent project. For anything concerning your data, reach us at info@norokalkan.com. This section will be updated with the details of the data controller once the project is registered under a legal entity.

What we process, and why

Early-access form. We process your email address only to send updates about the app’s development and early-access invitations. Legal basis: your consent. You can leave the list at any time via the link in every email.

Contact form. Your name, email address, chosen area of interest and message are processed only to respond to your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, and pre-contractual contact.

Access logs. When you visit, our hosting provider briefly retains technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referrer and pages viewed, for security and abuse prevention.

Visit statistics. We use a cookie-free analytics tool (Cloudflare Web Analytics) for aggregate, anonymous statistics. It does not identify you individually and does not place an identifier on your device.

Fonts. The site’s fonts are loaded via Google Fonts; your IP address may be transmitted to Google in the process.

The “Ask” tool. A question you type into this tool is sent to the Anthropic (Claude) model to generate an answer, and may be kept in short-lived, non-session-linked logs for review. Please do not enter details that identify you (name, phone, address). The tool does not give medical advice and redirects you to a helpline in a crisis.

Service providers your data reaches

We never sell your data and never share it with third parties for advertising. We work with the following providers as data processors, only to the extent needed to run these services:

MailerLite — managing the early-access email list and sending emails.

Web3Forms — delivering contact-form messages to info@norokalkan.com.

Cloudflare — hosting, security and cookie-free visit statistics.

Google Fonts — serving font files.

Anthropic (Claude) — only to generate an answer to the question you type into the “Ask” tool; may be kept in short-term aggregate review logs.

These providers’ servers may be located outside your country (primarily the US and EU); by using the forms or the “Ask” tool you also consent to your data being transferred abroad for this purpose. Each provider’s own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own and stores no advertising or tracking identifier in your browser. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free.

Because the early-access form runs on MailerLite’s infrastructure, viewing the form may cause MailerLite to set technical third-party cookies. You can block these in your browser settings without affecting the form.

The NöroKalkan app (data that stays on your device)

While the NöroKalkan app (norokalkan.com/app) runs, it keeps your urge ratings, the notes and journal you write, the settings you configure and any personal details you enter in future only in your own browser’s local storage (localStorage).

We cannot access this data. It is not sent to our servers, not shared with third parties, and not synced across devices. It is necessary for the app’s remembering function, so it is not subject to a separate cookie or consent prompt (“strictly necessary” storage under KVKK and ePrivacy).

You can delete this data at any time: with the Delete my data button in the app’s “How it works” section, or from your browser’s clear-site-data setting. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

Retention

Your email address is kept until you unsubscribe or the project ends. Contact-form data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable time after your request is resolved. Access logs are short-lived and subject to the provider’s policy.

Your rights

Under Turkish data-protection law (KVKK Art. 11) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to know whether your data is processed, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and — as far as technically possible — to data portability.

To exercise these rights, simply write to info@norokalkan.com. We respond within 30 days at the latest.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — HTTPS, access controls and reputable service providers — to protect your data against unauthorised access. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

This site is not directed at people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

A note on health

NöroKalkan is not a medical diagnosis, treatment or therapy service. For urgent, professional and confidential support, reach a gambling helpline in your region; if your life is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page; the effective date is shown above.
